Review of the year 2024

We take a look back at the year 2024 in a short series of pictures. It was a year that (once again) set out to be an extraordinary one in the band’s history – with over 60 shows in 16 countries and an album release. But let’s start at the beginning.

JANUARY

The year began with the recording of the “Coming Home” album, which was released in December.
And bang… the first single from the album is already out.

FEBRUARY

In February, we went on our big “Wake The Rebels” European tour. Starting in Greece. What a crazy party crowd!
On our European tour, we traveled through Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland and France, as this photo from Paris shows.
Prague!
In between, we also recorded something in the studio. Here with the active support of our fan club! Love goes out.

MARCH

The European tour was a complete success. We’ve never been on tour for so long in one go. But we met an incredible number of great people, such as our friends from The Rumpled.
2024 has made Paddyhats history in every respect. We did a lot of things for the first time. We were in Vienna for the first time in March and played a headlining club show.
The crowning finale of the tour, however, took place in Germany. The packed and completely sold-out Kulttempel hosted a sweat-inducing and incredibly energetic show.
A topsy-turvy world. Our crew band, who actually managed to get Airbourne on it, warmed you up. Meanwhile, we took over sound, lighting and backlining. #crewlove

APRIL

The first festival show of the year took place in Mons, Belgium. At the Trolls et Légends festival, there was plenty of action and cosplay as well as a pretty party-happy audience.
In April, the Road to the Golden Shamrock was also launched for the first time. A competition in which you could vote for your favorite bands. The crème de la crème of international Celtic rock bands competed against each other in several rounds.
These three bands were able to assert themselves.

MAY

Back in Belgium! At the Labadoux in Ingelmunster we were allowed to play in the big tent and met our friends from Ferocious Dog, who we accompanied to England later in the year.
Back to the roots was the motto for two sold-out shows at the Pitcher in Düsseldorf. We did everything ourselves at the shows and made it painfully clear how important our crew is. Both shows also featured songs that we haven’t played live for a long time.

JUNE

June was all about Raise Your Glasses High, our next single from the album “Coming Home”. For the music video, we had another great day of filming with lots of you, who transformed a pub in Little Dublin into a real Irish pub as extras. Grandma Erna did a great job in the leading role.

JULY

Our festival summer really took off in July. Mega shows and a lot of travel time…
Our friends from Fiddler’s Green had a power cut at the Shamrock Castle Festival. Without further ado, we moved the stage into the audience and simply continued playing acoustically, which led to an incredibly cool atmosphere.
The Rockharz Festival is always a highlight for us. Unfortunately, we’ve never been lucky with the weather so far. This time, too, we were greeted by real Irish weather. But that didn’t dampen the mood. You celebrated and braved the weather.
The first time in Bulgaria and then directly supporting the legendary Deep Purple. This show will always remain in our memories. Incredible views from the stage and a great atmosphere in the audience.

AUGUST

We spent a wonderful weekend in Spain in August. The festival had a breathtaking site in the middle of the forest. It was great!
From one great festival to the next. Home game in Wuppertal! At Feuertal, we were finally able to play at home again.

SEPTEMBER

Full Metal Cruise!

An absolute highlight of the year was the Full Metal Cruise on Mein Schiff 3. What a week! Due to the weather, we weren’t able to visit every port, but this meant that we were able to stay on board for an extra day. We will always remember this cruise!

Folk Field!!!

We were still quite ill in Gelsenkirchen for the Folk Field Festival of our friends from Schandmaul. It was an honor for us to heat you up this year after last year’s cancellation for well-known reasons.

OCTOBER

October was all about the Ferocious Dog Kleptocracy Tour, Part II. For us, this meant two weeks in England and a great time with the dogs we have taken to our hearts. From Southampton to Clithero, from Norwich to Hull: we learned to love England.

NOVEMBER

Quiet month?

As far as the shows were concerned, we were able to take a deep breath in November. But it wasn’t quiet at all. We had our hands full with the preparations for the album release. And we also released another single from our album, Weight Of The World.

The effort of signing all the vinyls is written all over Paddy’s face.

DECEMBER

We were invited to be part of the line-up for Subway to Sally’s Eisheiligen Nächte. A great tour that took us all over Germany.
Our Spotify Wrapped. Another very successful year in the history of Paddyhats.
Coming Home” saw the light of day on 20.12.2024. We are very proud of this album and can of course only recommend it to you.
