In Strange Waters

“In Strange Waters” is the name of the Paddyhats’ anniversary album on the occasion of their 10th stage anniversary – and rightly so. Because they have put the songs, which have now been viewed more than 70 million times on YouTube, into really unusual genres. Far from their usual Irish folk punk, they steer the ship unerringly into the waters of pop, metal, ska and barbershop music. Still, the band’s identity resonates in every note, because even if the waters are foreign, the ship is the same. The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats, as made clear on their cover, look at each other with completely different eyes and take a step beyond Irish folk punk and not least with a new song that was not actually planned.

Dogs on the Leash

With their 4th album “Dogs on the Leash” the 7 musicians of “The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats” do not leave the dogs on a leash at all. Their rocky-punky music with more than just a dash of life-affirming and sometimes mystical Irish Folk reminds us of a stray mutt who brings back from his travels captivating, often funny but sometimes sad stories and maybe a few fleas. Everything is allowed when Irish melodies meet hard electric guitar and an ancient musical culture meets a modern world. If you don’t leave the club dancing, singing and half staggering, you probably haven’t been to a Paddyhats concert. Because of course there are also enough drinking songs! The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats bring their Irish Folk Punk into your head, your legs and your soul!

“The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats” may have a complicated name, but their mission is all the more clear: they want to tear you out of your daily routine and drag you onto the dance floor. They want to make you an addict in your car after a concert or a run through one of their albums. Addicted to the energy, passion and lifeblood that “The O’Reillys and the Paddyhats” wrap in every fiber of their being. Their third studio album “Green Blood”, again recorded at the legendary Principal Studios (Die Toten Hosen, In Extremo, Broilers) explains their mission: to infect everything and everyone with the green blood! Anyone can have it, everyone should have it. Take your dose of “Green Blood”! Now! Oh and because of the name – simply “Paddyhats” is enough!

Sign of the Fighter

Once again recorded and produced in the legendary Principal Studios, the Paddyhats have matured and become even more ambitious. 12 songs a short thriller and a challenging cover of the classic “The Boxer” by Simon and Garfunkel. But especially the own songs on this record show what the 7 musicians are made of.
The album was released worldwide on 03.02.2017 and on this occasion the band is on a big support tour (with Kärbholz). 12 dates in the great halls of Germany and Switzerland (Palladium Cologne, Löwensaal Nuremberg, Batschkapp Frankfurt, etc.)

Seven Hearts One Soul

Recorded and produced in the legendary Principal Studios (Die Toten Hosen, In Extremo, Unheilig, H-Blockx, etc.), the Paddyhats have set the bar high for their new album “Seven Hearts, One Soul”.
“Seven Hearts, One Soul” is not a typical Irish folk punk record. Of course, there are driving beats, nimble violin, dirty electric guitar, but both the genre mix and their very own musical language break with the traditions.
